A 5-Week Social Communication Group
Does your child want to make friends but have trouble connecting with peers?
Rainbow Promises Speech Therapy is offering Friendship Builders, a 5-week social communication group designed to help children build confidence, practice friendship skills, and learn how to connect with others in a supportive, small-group setting.
This group is a great fit for children who may:
Want to make friends but struggle to connect
Have difficulty starting or keeping conversations
Feel unsure in social situations
Need support reading social cues
Benefit from structured practice with peers
Each week includes a Social Skills Lesson + Social Lab model. Children will first learn and practice specific social communication strategies through direct teaching, role-play, games, and activities. They will then have opportunities to use those skills in more natural, real-life practice through conversations, group games, snack/lunch social time, and community-style activities.
Skills may include:
Starting and continuing conversations
Asking questions and making comments
Joining a group
Reading body language and tone of voice
Handling awkward moments
Building confidence with peers
Practicing flexible thinking and problem-solving in social situations
Group Options:
Ages 8–10
Ages 11–13
Program Details:
Twice a week
1 hour per session
5 weeks
Dates: July 13–August 14, 2026
Location: Wellesley, MA
Group size: Up to 5 children
Price: $600 total ($60 a session)
Spots are limited to keep the group small, supportive, and individualized.
